Texas Rep. Has Harsh Message For Biden Door-to-Door “Outreach”

That escalated quickly. The response to Joe Biden’s “door to door outreach” to encourage Americans to get the Covid vaccine, that is.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) attacked Biden over his administration’s in-person push to get as many Americans vaccinated as possible.

Roy told RealClearPolitics during an interview on Friday that his “dad had polio,” and he grew up watching his dad suffer with that disease. He said it was a ‘great blessing’ that a vaccine ended polio. And he was ‘delighted’ that the disease no longer affected people.

“I’m very pro-vaccine. Likewise, I’m delighted there are millions of people who are able to avail themselves of a [coronavirus] vaccine that they believe, in their calculation, is good for them and their well-being. That is great.”

However, Rep. Roy added that he doesn’t like how the vaccine is being pushed onto the American people:

“I’m just sick and God-darn tired of the left, and this government, dictating to me, frankly, anything at all Back the F off. That’s my message to the White House.”

He predicted that “the left is going to lose their ever-loving collective mind” for criticizing the White House. “They are going to call me an anti-vaxxer.” Rep. Roy says that leftists are wrong.

“It is intellectually consistent to support a vaccine but also oppose a federal campaign to convince the public to take it because… what I really am is a believer in freedom.”

And most Americans are also believers in freedom. Whether you decide to take the jab or not, it should be your decision made of your own free will. Not coerced or badgered by anyone else.

Sleepy Joe has tried to make getting the vaccine a noble thing. Here’s what Biden said last week:

“Please get vaccinated now. It works. It’s free. It’s never been easier, and it’s never been more important. Do it now for yourself and the people you care about, for your neighborhood, for your country. It sounds corny, but it’s a patriotic thing to do.”

And that’s where Rep. Roy objects. He compared Biden’s red-white-and-blue routine to “wrapping a supposed duty in the name of public health in the flag.” And he provided a  rebuttal in kind:

“Freedom to choose what is in your best interests and your family’s best interest – that is the most patriotic thing we can do.”

Amen to that. Kudos to Rep. Chip Roy for standing up for our freedom to choose.
