Will Tom Emmer Become The Next House Speaker?

Jenna Ellis Admits Guilt in Georgia Election Tampering Case On Tuesday, Jenna Ellis became the third attorney from Donald Trump’s former campaign team to enter a plea deal in a case concerning interference in Georgia’s 2020 election. Ellis, who once referred to herself as part of an “elite strike force team” advocating baseless election fraud allegations, pleaded guilty to a single charge of aiding and abetting the dissemination of false statements and documents.

Visibly emotional, Ellis told the judge, “Had I known then what I know now, I would not have agreed to represent Donald Trump in the post-election challenges.”

As part of her plea agreement, Ellis committed to providing truthful testimony against her co-defendants, including Trump. She received a sentence of five years probation, was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service, pay $5,000 in restitution, and write an apology letter to the citizens of Georgia.

When Fulton County prosecutor Daysha Young asked Ellis how she pleaded to the charge of aiding and abetting in the making of false statements and documents, Ellis responded, “Guilty.”

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis had charged Ellis, Trump, and 17 other individuals in August with a comprehensive racketeering indictment. The indictment accused all the defendants of engaging in an illegal conspiracy to retain Trump in office after the 2020 election.

Since the indictment was issued, four out of the 19 co-defendants have accepted plea deals. Scott Hall, a former bail bondsman, was the first to enter a plea last month. Recently, three attorneys from Trump’s team, including Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro, have also taken plea deals and agreed to testify against the former president. Ellis joined them in entering a plea on Tuesday.
