Trump Ally Prepares to Voice Formal Backing for Ex-President’s Endeavors

Former White House Press Secretary and current Governor of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, is poised to publicly back her former chief, ex-President Donald Trump, in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination for 2024.

This endorsement is slated to be announced during a rally in Florida—Trump’s state of residence—on Wednesday night, as per information from Fox News on Monday.

In what appears to be a strategic move by Trump, the rally is organized in Hialeah, Florida, to coincide with the third GOP presidential primary debate, which will be taking place just a short distance away in Miami.

Trump, who is regarded as the leading candidate for the Republican nomination in what is his third consecutive run for the presidency, has chosen to forego the debates against his Republican counterparts.

Sanders, who is also the daughter of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, has been a dedicated supporter of Trump post-presidency. She served as the press secretary during half of his tenure in the White House. While Sanders won the Arkansas governorship by a significant margin last November, she has refrained from endorsing anyone in the Republican primary until now—a decision that reportedly caused some consternation in Trump’s circle.

Sanders has been quoted criticizing the current administration’s policies and advocating for a return to what she terms the ‘normalcy’ of Trump’s presidency. She has expressed her pride in endorsing Trump for his vision of a secure and prosperous America.

In return, Trump acknowledged Sanders’ endorsement, recalling their successful tenure in the White House and expressing his pleasure at having her join the upcoming Florida rally.

Meanwhile, as Sanders declares her support for Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis secured an endorsement from Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds. DeSantis, along with former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, is currently vying for a prominent position in the early voting states, trailing Trump in the polls.
