Chris Cuomo Expresses Willingness to Consider Trump in Future Elections

Chris Cuomo, a notable NewsNation host and member of a family with a strong Democratic legacy in New York, recently revealed his openness to voting for former President Donald Trump in the next election. During his appearance on the “PBD Podcast,” Cuomo expressed doubts about President Joe Biden’s suitability as the nation’s leader and as the Democratic candidate for the 2024 election.

Questioning Biden’s capabilities, Cuomo stated, “Do I think [Biden] is the best of us? No. Do I think he’s the best we can do as president? Absolutely not. Do I think he’s the best that Democrats can do? H*** no!” This skepticism led to host Patrick Bet-David inquiring whether Cuomo would consider sitting out the election if the choice were between Biden and Trump.

In response, Cuomo acknowledged the possibility of surviving another Trump administration, comparing it to the current risks under Biden. He argued that the country didn’t face existential threats under Trump that it doesn’t face now. He emphasized his belief in America’s resilience, pointing out how the nation has endured various crises, including the Russia investigation, the events of January 6th, and Biden’s gaffes.

When directly asked about the possibility of voting for Trump, Cuomo confirmed his openness, citing his history of voting across party lines. He recalled his first vote as a college freshman in 1988, which was for Republican George H.W. Bush. This disclosure highlights Cuomo’s willingness to cross party lines based on the political climate and the candidates presented.
