Trump Loyalist Backstabs Him And Accuses Him Of What?
Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is urging President Trump’s supporters to “take off their political blinders” as she raises concerns about the level of force used in a recent Minnesota shooting involving a federal immigration agent.
In a post on X, Greene reaffirmed her support for law enforcement and strict immigration enforcement, while also defending Americans’ constitutional rights — particularly the right to legally carry firearms. She pushed back on claims that 37-year-old Alex Pretti posed an immediate threat to officers simply because he was armed.
“I unapologetically support border security, deporting criminal illegal aliens, and law enforcement,” Greene wrote. “But I also unapologetically support the Second Amendment. Legally carrying a firearm is not the same as brandishing one.”
She added that she also supports First and Fourth Amendment rights, noting that peacefully protesting and recording law enforcement activity is lawful.
The Trump administration has defended the shooting, saying the agent fired “defensive shots” after Pretti was found to be carrying a firearm, which authorities later recovered. Critics, however, have accused the agent of using excessive force, citing video footage that appears to show Pretti filming Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers moments before the confrontation escalated.
President Trump weighed in on the incident with a Truth Social post, sharing an image of a pistol allegedly recovered at the scene and writing that the weapon was loaded with additional magazines.
“What is that all about? Where are the local police?” Trump wrote. “Why weren’t they allowed to protect ICE officers? It’s being reported that ICE had to protect themselves.”
Greene urged her followers to consider how they would respond if a similar incident occurred under the Biden administration, drawing comparisons to law enforcement actions taken against Jan. 6 defendants.
She asked supporters to imagine a scenario in which federal agents confronted and used force against a Trump supporter who was recording an arrest, questioning whether reactions would differ based on political alignment.
Greene concluded by calling on Americans across the political spectrum to assess the situation objectively, warning against escalating partisan conflict.
“Both sides need to take off their political blinders,” she wrote. “You are being incited into division while real problems go unsolved — and people are losing their lives.”
