Trump Has A Devil Named Graham On His Shoulders

Lindsey Graham said Saturday that he supports Donald Trump’s demand that Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz and reach a peace agreement with the United States within 48 hours, urging Tehran to carefully consider its next steps.

In a post on X, Graham said that after speaking directly with Trump, he believes the president is prepared to use decisive military force if Iran continues to block the strategic waterway or refuses a diplomatic resolution. He added that by now it should be clear that Trump intends to follow through on his warnings.

Trump earlier signaled that his deadline for action is nearing, warning that time is running short for Iran to comply. The ultimatum came after Iranian forces reportedly shot down two U.S. warplanes on Friday, including a F-15E Strike Eagle. Both crew members ejected from the aircraft, with one later recovered while search efforts continue for the other.

In recent days, Trump has intensified his rhetoric, stating that while the military campaign is close to завершение, the United States could escalate further if necessary. He has also warned of additional strikes targeting key infrastructure, including bridges and power systems, following earlier attacks near Tehran.

Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, responded by addressing the American public in a message criticizing the potential targeting of civilian infrastructure. He warned such actions could have far-reaching consequences, increasing instability and creating economic ripple effects beyond Iran’s borders.

Trump has said the conflict could wrap up within a few weeks, though it has already extended beyond initial expectations. Meanwhile, economic concerns are growing, particularly around rising fuel costs, though the administration has downplayed the long-term impact and expressed confidence in a quick recovery once the conflict ends.
