Trump Approval Gets Shocking Update

A new survey finds that a majority of Americans disapprove of President Trump’s job performance as he faces mounting political challenges ahead of the November midterm elections.

According to the latest Economist/YouGov poll released Tuesday, 36 percent of respondents said they either strongly or somewhat approve of the job Trump is doing, while 60 percent said they strongly or somewhat disapprove. Another 4 percent said they were unsure.

The survey comes as Trump and congressional Republicans contend with several political headwinds, including the ongoing conflict with Iran, concerns about the economy, criticism of the administration’s immigration policies and a series of recent Democratic election victories.

Other polling has shown a similar trend. Decision Desk HQ’s polling average on Wednesday placed Trump’s job approval rating at 40.8 percent, compared with a 56.6 percent disapproval rating.

The poll also found that concerns about the president’s age remain an issue with voters. Fifty-two percent of respondents said Trump is too old to serve as president, while 36 percent said he is not too old. Eleven percent said they were unsure.

The Economist/YouGov survey was conducted July 17-20 among 1,602 adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.
