Who’s A Smarter President, Trump or Biden?

Biden Criticizes Media for Pessimistic Economic Coverage, Urges ‘Right Way’ Reporting

President Biden recently expressed his discontent with the media’s portrayal of the economy, as he prepared for his holiday break. This happened on a Saturday, as he was departing the White House for his Christmas stay at Camp David. When a reporter questioned Biden about his perspective on the economy as we head into 2024, he confidently replied, “All good. Take a look,” and playfully suggested that the media should start “reporting it the right way.”

Biden’s dissatisfaction with the press isn’t new. He often points out that the media tends to highlight negative stories more than the positive outcomes of his administration. Despite this, his popularity among Americans continues to dwindle, largely due to concerns about his economic management. Recent polls paint a grim picture: A Fox News survey indicated that only 14% of Americans feel Biden’s economic policies have been beneficial, whereas nearly half (46%) believe they’ve been financially detrimental.

The general sentiment about the economy isn’t just a partisan issue. The same Fox News poll revealed that a significant 61% of Democrats agree with the 93% of Republicans and 85% of independents in viewing the economy negatively.

As we inch closer to the 2024 presidential election, Biden faces growing apprehension within his own party. Current polls, including the RealClearPolitics average, suggest he’s trailing behind former President Trump in a potential rematch. Biden’s challenges don’t stop at the economy; his approach to border issues, international crises (including situations in Ukraine and Israel), legal problems involving his son Hunter, and a recent impeachment inquiry initiated by House Republicans are all contributing factors to his precarious position.
