Airforce F35 Crashes, Trump Furious
A U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II stealth fighter jet crashed Friday near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, with the pilot safely ejecting before the aircraft went down.
Marine Corps officials confirmed the incident was an F-35 “aircraft mishap” near the base. The pilot was recovered after ejecting and transported to a medical facility for evaluation. No details have been released on the pilot’s condition, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, located about 14 miles north of downtown San Diego, serves as the home of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing and is one of the military’s primary aviation installations.
The F-35B Lightning II is a fifth-generation stealth fighter designed to operate from amphibious assault ships, expeditionary airfields and other locations with limited runway space. It is equipped with advanced sensors and is considered one of the military’s most sophisticated combat aircraft.
The crash marks another costly setback for the Defense Department as questions continue to swirl over military readiness and equipment losses.
