Hunter Makes Stunning Admission About His Father

Former President Joe Biden is facing a serious health battle, and his son Hunter Biden has now revealed that the cancer diagnosed last year has spread, offering a grim update on the former president’s condition.

In a Friday interview with the BBC’s “Newsnight,” Hunter Biden said his father’s prostate cancer has metastasized into his bones and beyond. He described the disease as painful and debilitating and acknowledged how difficult it has been for the family to watch Biden’s health decline.

“The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” Hunter Biden said. “It’s really sad to watch.”

Biden announced in May 2025 that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer several months after leaving the White House. His office said at the time that the cancer appeared to be hormone-sensitive, meaning doctors believed it could be managed with treatment.

More than a year later, Hunter Biden’s latest comments suggest the former president is dealing with a much more serious progression of the disease.

Hunter became emotional while talking about his father and said Biden’s condition has been particularly difficult for those closest to him.

“The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good,” he said.

Yet Hunter also portrayed his father as someone who remains deeply involved with his family despite the illness.

Former first lady Jill Biden previously said that her husband had slowed down since his diagnosis but continued to keep busy. Hunter similarly said Biden remains engaged and continues to believe strongly in the country.

“He so believes in this country,” Hunter said.

The comments provide a rare glimpse into the former president’s health from someone inside his immediate family. Biden has largely remained away from the center of the national political spotlight since leaving office, although he has made occasional public appearances and continued to criticize President Donald Trump.

In June, Biden delivered remarks at a Democratic Party gala in Maryland, where he took aim at several of Trump’s Washington projects, including the proposed White House arch, changes at the Kennedy Center and work involving the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

But behind the political headlines, Hunter Biden said his father is confronting a deeply personal fight.

Hunter also revisited the June 2024 presidential debate that raised widespread questions about Biden’s condition while he was still seeking reelection. Watching the debate from California, Hunter said he immediately sensed that something was wrong.

“I knew something was wrong,” he said.

Biden ultimately left the 2024 presidential race weeks later, clearing the way for Vice President Kamala Harris to become the Democratic nominee.

Now, according to his son, the former president is focused on his health and his family as he undergoes treatment.

Hunter called Biden the “best father, the best husband, the best grandfather,” while making clear that the family is dealing with a serious and painful chapter in the former president’s life.
