RNC Chair Michael Whatley Vows Active Role in Monitoring November Election Process

Michael Whatley, the Chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), emphasized the importance of the committee’s presence during the early voting and counting processes in the upcoming November elections. In a conversation with John Catsimatidis on the “Cats Roundtable” radio show on WABC 770 AM, Whatley articulated the RNC’s commitment to ensuring that robust and fair electoral rules and regulations are established across the states.

Whatley elaborated on the committee’s proactive approach to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process by closely working with legislative bodies, election boards, and secretaries of state. This collaboration aims to solidify the legal and procedural framework governing the elections, aligning them with the RNC’s standards. He underscored the possibility of legal action should these standards not be met, referencing the 80 lawsuits already initiated in 24 states to advocate for sound election protocols.

The RNC’s strategy includes a substantial legal presence, with thousands of attorneys planned to be on-site during the casting and counting of votes in November. This measure is part of a broader initiative to recruit a significant number of volunteers and legal professionals nationwide, ensuring the party’s active oversight throughout the electoral process.

Whatley also touched on the importance of engaging the Republican base in early voting discussions. Although he was non-committal about directly promoting early voting among the GOP electorate, he acknowledged the need for strategic communication prior to Election Day.
