Trump Asserts Taylor Swift Unlikely to Support Biden
On Sunday, former President Trump shared his thoughts on the unlikely possibility of pop icon Taylor Swift endorsing President Biden, amidst growing rumors that Biden’s campaign is keen on securing Swift’s support. Trump took to Truth Social to express his viewpoint, emphasizing his role in the passage of the Music Modernization Act, which benefited Swift and other artists, contrasting it with Biden’s lack of contributions to Swift’s career.
Trump stated, “I was instrumental in the enactment of the Music Modernization Act, benefiting Taylor Swift and her peers. Joe Biden, on the other hand, hasn’t made any such contributions to Taylor’s success and is unlikely to do so in the future. It’s hard to imagine she would support Joe Biden, given his record, and turn her back on someone who has significantly impacted her financial success.”
Additionally, Trump mentioned his fondness for Swift’s partner, Travis Kelce, a Kansas City Chiefs player, despite their potential political differences. This comment was in light of the significant music industry legislation Trump signed in 2018, which addressed copyright issues.
The speculation about Swift’s political engagement heightened after a New York Times report suggested Biden’s campaign was actively seeking Swift’s endorsement, considering involving Biden in one of Swift’s “Eras Tour” concerts. Trump’s remarks came just before a major game involving Kelce’s team, sparking further discussion in the media.
There have been various theories in conservative circles about Swift’s relationship with Kelce and its potential impact on the Super Bowl and political endorsements, though these are unfounded. Swift, who supported Biden in the 2020 election, has not publicly discussed her stance on the 2024 election. However, her influence is undeniable, as seen in the significant voter registration spike following one of her social media posts.
