Haley Says Trump As GOP Nominee Would Be ‘Suicide For Our Country,’ Is She Right?
Lara Trump Initiates Campaign for RNC Vice Chair Position
Lara Trump, related to GOP leader Donald Trump by marriage, has formally initiated her campaign for the vice-chair position of the Republican National Committee (RNC). Her announcement came shortly after the current chair, Ronna McDaniel, and her vice-chair declared their resignations. This development followed the revelation that Michael Whatley, endorsed by Donald Trump, is seeking McDaniel’s chairmanship role.
On social media platform X, Lara Trump shared her excitement about her candidacy, emphasizing her commitment to election integrity, boosting voter turnout, and ensuring efficient use of funds for electoral victories. She also highlighted the endorsement from her father-in-law, Donald Trump, in a letter to the RNC’s 168 members, as reported by Politico. Lara Trump, married to Donald Trump’s second son Eric Trump, conveyed her eagerness to engage with RNC members and gain their support.
Her candidacy is seen as part of Donald Trump’s broader strategy to reshape the RNC to align closely with his presidential campaign ambitions, including plans to appoint Chris LaCivita as the RNC’s chief operating officer. Donald Trump has publicly backed Lara Trump, Whatley, and LaCivita for their respective roles.
In her communication with RNC members, Lara Trump outlined her plans for an election integrity program and a thorough review of the RNC’s contracts and vendor agreements. Lara Trump and Whatley are anticipated to secure their positions by a majority vote at the upcoming RNC elections on March 8 in Houston, coinciding with McDaniel’s departure. The announcement of these candidacies and planned organizational changes marks a significant moment in the RNC’s leadership transition, with Drew McKissick, another co-chair, also resigning.
