Is Ocasio-Cortez A Disgrace To America?

In a recent public statement on Truth Social, the ex-President Donald Trump lambasted the New York judge overseeing his civil fraud lawsuit, branding him as biased and erratic. Trump took issue with the judge’s decision to compel his daughter, Ivanka Trump, to give testimony in the case.

The former President referred to the judge as harboring a vendetta against him, stating, “I am convinced the man is irrational, fueled by an intense animosity towards me.” Trump insisted that the lawsuit itself was baseless and called for its termination.

Earlier in the week, Judge Arthur Engoron mandated that Ivanka Trump is to be questioned under oath, despite her being removed as a defendant in the early stages of the case. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, the former President’s sons, are also slated to testify in the coming month.

Ivanka Trump’s legal counsel had contested the subpoena, claiming that the court lacks the jurisdiction to summon her. “Ivanka Trump is neither a defendant in this case nor a resident of New York,” the lawyers contended, “and by well-established law, she falls outside this Court’s purview.”

At the core of the legal dispute is the allegation that Donald Trump and his sons intentionally inflated the value of their business holdings to secure more favorable terms on loans and insurance policies. Judge Engoron had earlier determined that fraudulent conduct did occur; the upcoming trial will focus on ascertaining the amount of damages. Prosecutors are pushing for financial penalties upward of $250 million and aim to bar the trio from managing any businesses in New York State.
