Joe Rogan Calls Trump Spooky
Podcast host Joe Rogan said during a Wednesday episode of The Joe Rogan Experience that he finds it “spooky” that President Donald Trump is approaching 80 years old. During the conversation, Rogan was joined by British political commentator Konstantin Kisin, who raised the question of how foreign leaders might perceive an American president of that age. Kisin speculated that figures such as Iran’s former supreme leader Ali Khamenei might view an older leader as someone they could test politically. Rogan responded by noting that age can change how leaders approach decisions, suggesting that someone nearing the later stages of life may feel they have less at stake long-term.
Rogan argued that global leaders make decisions that affect future generations, while they themselves may only have a limited number of years remaining. Trump, who turns 80 on June 14, is already the oldest person elected president and the oldest to take the oath of office. Another guest on the episode, Francis Foster, added that aging can sometimes bring cognitive decline. The White House has largely tried to control the narrative around Trump’s health, releasing a medical evaluation last year describing him as being in “excellent health” and fully capable of carrying out presidential duties. Months later, however, officials disclosed that the president had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a relatively common condition in which veins in the legs struggle to efficiently return blood to the heart.
