Record Number Of Illegals Seen At Southern Border, Is Biden Responsible?
A recent 30-second spot released by Never Back Down, a PAC supporting DeSantis, sharply contrasts Nikki Haley’s past and present statements regarding humanitarian aid to Gaza, spotlighting what appears to be a significant shift in her stance.
The video recalls Haley’s 2017 Senate confirmation hearing for the United Nations ambassador role, where she expressed a broad humanitarian outlook. When Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) inquired about the benefits to the U.S. of assisting people in the West Bank and Gaza, Haley emphasized the importance of safeguarding the region. Although the ad doesn’t show Booker’s full question, he specifically asked if aiding Palestinians might reduce the likelihood of individuals joining terrorist groups like Hamas.
Haley’s words from the hearing, “Anytime that we can help mankind, regardless of where they are and what country they’re in,” are juxtaposed against her recent statement in a FOX interview. Here, she firmly asserts, “That is not the role of U.S. to do that. I’ve always said that,” when discussing aid to Palestinians. This stark contrast is presented amidst escalating conflict in the Middle East, suggesting a softening in Haley’s position.
Scheduled to be broadcast across platforms like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, the ad aims to highlight perceived inconsistencies in Haley’s political rhetoric.
“Time and again, Nikki Haley has shown a tendency to waver unsteadily on vital issues. Up until now, she hasn’t had to justify her actions. Her own blunders present a perfect chance to lay bare the disparity between her words and deeds. It’s a scrutiny she won’t withstand,” stated Kristin Davison, Never Back Down’s Chief Operating Officer.
In response, Haley’s representative, Olivia Perez-Cubas, countered, “Faltering campaigns resort to desperate measures. While Nikki was confronting Hamas and defending Israel at the UN, DeSantis was an obscure Congressman voting for debt hikes and pushing for a fracking ban. Nikki is on the rise, and DeSantis is struggling.”
