RFK Jr. Reveals What He Says He Sees on Trump’s Plane

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says President Donald Trump’s eating habits change significantly when the president is traveling, including frequent reliance on fast food.

During an appearance on the “Net Positive” podcast, Kennedy said he has seen large quantities of McDonald’s food aboard Air Force One while traveling with Trump. Kennedy said Trump prefers recognizable national restaurant chains when away from home because he is concerned about getting food poisoning from unfamiliar food.

Kennedy was asked whether Trump’s fast-food choices conflict with the health-focused agenda Kennedy has promoted since becoming head of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Kennedy said he does not approach the president by lecturing him about his diet. He argued that Trump eats well much of the time, particularly when he is at the White House or Mar-a-Lago.

According to Kennedy, meals served in those settings often include fresh produce and locally sourced ingredients. He characterized Trump’s fast-food consumption as something that happens more frequently while the president is traveling.

Trump’s diet has attracted attention for years, particularly his well-known preference for fast food and diet soda. Other administration officials have occasionally commented on his eating habits as well.

CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz joked earlier this year about Trump’s use of diet soda, referring to a humorous argument that because the beverage can kill grass, it must therefore have some ability to fight cancer cells.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt laughed off the remark and said she had heard Trump make a similar joke himself.

Kennedy’s own dietary habits have also become a subject of public discussion. The HHS secretary has promoted a diet emphasizing foods such as fermented products and grass-fed meat, and some other members of Trump’s administration have reportedly adopted portions of the approach.

Kennedy has credited his diet with helping him lose 20 pounds in a month and said it improved problems involving an irregular heartbeat. Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has also said that following the approach helped him reduce his waist size.

Not everyone in the administration has embraced Kennedy’s dietary recommendations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently described Kennedy’s meat-and-sauerkraut-heavy diet as “crazy,” while acknowledging that different approaches to eating may work for different people.

Kennedy, meanwhile, has continued promoting the dietary changes and encouraging people to consider trying them.

His comments about Trump’s eating habits offer another glimpse into the president’s routine while traveling, while also highlighting the contrast between Trump’s reported fast-food preferences and Kennedy’s broader push for changes in how Americans approach food and nutrition.
