Trump Ballroom Attacked By Traitor
Rep. Thomas Massie openly criticized President Trump during his concession speech Tuesday night after losing his Republican primary race to Trump-backed challenger Ed Gallrein.
Massie, who represented Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District for 14 years, appeared frustrated as he addressed supporters following the defeat, taking aim at Trump’s focus on White House renovation projects while many Americans continue struggling with rising costs.
During his remarks, Massie referenced a recent television appearance by Trump discussing plans for a large new ballroom at the White House, criticizing the project as everyday Americans deal with high gas and diesel prices.
The Kentucky Republican mocked the design of the proposed ballroom, comparing its appearance to architecture from the Roman Empire and suggesting there were parallels between lavish government projects and growing public frustration over economic pressures.
Trump has faced criticism in recent months over several renovations and additions planned for the White House, including a controversial proposal to replace part of the East Wing with a massive ballroom project reportedly expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Trump has insisted private donors would cover the expense.
Massie officially lost the Republican primary Tuesday after Gallrein secured roughly 55 percent of the vote compared to Massie’s 45 percent, according to election results reported by Decision Desk HQ.
The defeat marked another political victory for Trump as he continues targeting Republicans who publicly challenge or criticize his administration.
Trump had aggressively backed Gallrein after Massie opposed several administration priorities, including aspects of the Iran conflict and disputes surrounding the Justice Department’s handling of files connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Earlier Tuesday, Trump attacked Massie again on Truth Social after the congressman reposted an old endorsement Trump had given him years earlier during his first administration.
Trump accused Massie of trying to mislead voters by highlighting the outdated endorsement while ignoring Trump’s current support for Gallrein. The president also called Massie dishonest and desperate in the social media post.
Massie responded during his concession speech with another jab aimed at his opponent, sarcastically suggesting it took time to reach Gallrein because he was in Tel Aviv, referencing campaign support tied to pro-Israel political groups.
The race drew heavy involvement from outside organizations, including the American Israel Public Affairs Committeeand the Republican Jewish Coalition, both of which backed efforts opposing Massie.
Following the victory, Gallrein thanked Trump for his endorsement and guidance throughout the campaign, telling supporters the president’s backing played a major role in helping him secure the win.
Massie’s loss is expected to send another strong message throughout the Republican Party that openly opposing Trump — even from the conservative wing of the GOP — can carry major political consequences.
