Trump To Add One More Change To The White House Lawn

President Donald Trump joked that the massive UFC arena currently being constructed on the White House grounds might become a permanent landmark long after the upcoming fight card is over.

Speaking in a video posted Tuesday, Trump compared the temporary structure to France’s Eiffel Tower, noting that the famous Paris landmark was originally intended to be removed after a limited period but ended up becoming a permanent attraction.

“We’re building something in front of the White House that’s quite attractive to a lot of people,” Trump said with a smile. “It’s going to have the big UFC fight on June 14. Maybe we’ll never take it down.”

The comments came as construction crews continued assembling the outdoor arena on the South Lawn ahead of a major Ultimate Fighting Championship event planned as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations.

It remains unclear whether Trump was seriously suggesting the structure could stay in place or simply making a lighthearted remark. The White House has not publicly indicated that any plan exists to keep the arena after the event concludes.

The UFC card is expected to draw more than 4,000 spectators and will serve as one of the centerpiece events during the nation’s semiquincentennial festivities in Washington, D.C. Many of the attendees are expected to include members of the U.S. military and invited guests.

The event is scheduled for June 14, which also happens to be Trump’s 80th birthday, adding another layer of attention to the celebration.

Construction activity has become increasingly visible around the White House in recent days. Large metal support structures now tower above portions of the South Lawn, with massive video screens expected to be mounted throughout the venue to give spectators a clear view of the action.

The temporary arena represents one of the most unusual events ever planned on White House grounds and reflects Trump’s long-standing relationship with the UFC and combat sports.

Supporters have praised the idea as a unique way to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, while critics have questioned whether a championship cage-fighting event belongs at one of the nation’s most historic sites.

Regardless of the debate, the upcoming event is already generating significant attention as preparations continue.

Whether Trump was serious about preserving the arena or simply making a joke, his comments quickly fueled speculation that the White House could end up hosting one of the most unconventional landmarks in presidential history.

For now, the structure remains scheduled as a temporary installation, but Trump’s remarks ensured that the possibility of a more permanent future will remain a topic of conversation as the event approaches.
