Trump To Make Shocking Announcement On Sunday
President Trump announced Saturday that a new agreement with Iran is expected to be signed on Sunday, describing it as a major step toward ending tensions and restoring stability in the region.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the deal is on track to be finalized within the next day and suggested the agreement would mark a significant shift in relations between Washington and Tehran.
“The deal is scheduled to be signed tomorrow,” Trump wrote. “Our relationship with Iran is very different from what previous administrations had.”
The president expressed optimism that the process would move forward without complications but warned that alternative options remain available if negotiations break down.
“Hopefully everything works out quickly and smoothly,” Trump said. “If it doesn’t, we have other options available.”
Trump also indicated that the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes, would reopen immediately after the agreement is signed. The waterway has faced major disruptions during the conflict, affecting global energy markets.
The announcement came after Pakistani officials, who have played a key role in facilitating discussions between the two sides, suggested a final agreement could be completed within 24 hours.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said preparations are underway for the signing ceremony and described the potential agreement as an important milestone.
“We believe this agreement can create the foundation for long-term peace and stability,” Sharif said, adding that technical negotiations would continue after the initial signing.
Not everyone involved appeared ready to confirm the timeline, however.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei reportedly cautioned against assuming a deal would be signed immediately, saying discussions remain ongoing.
“The possibility exists in the coming days,” Baghaei said. “But we must remain cautious regarding any final announcements.”
Trump also used the opportunity to criticize the Obama-era nuclear agreement with Iran, arguing that it failed to adequately prevent Tehran from pursuing nuclear capabilities.
According to Trump, the new framework takes a much tougher approach and is designed to permanently block Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
“My agreement is the exact opposite,” Trump wrote. “It creates a wall against a nuclear weapon.”
The president also pushed back against reports suggesting the deal includes large financial incentives for Iran. Trump insisted no direct payments are part of the agreement.
He further claimed that any remaining highly enriched nuclear material would eventually be secured and eliminated under the terms of the arrangement.
Trump concluded by saying he hopes the agreement will lead to improved relations between the United States, Iran, and other nations across the Middle East.
“We look forward to working with Iran and the entire region well into the future,” he wrote.
If finalized, the agreement would represent one of the most significant foreign policy developments of Trump’s second term and could reshape diplomatic relations throughout the Middle East.
