Wives of U.S. Border Patrol Agents Say Biden Should No Longer Be President, You Agree?
Hillary Takes A Swipe At Trump
At a recent event where a portrait of Hillary Clinton was revealed in honor of her tenure as the 67th secretary of state, she made pointed remarks about Russian President Vladimir Putin. In addition, she subtly referenced former President Donald Trump, who bested her in the 2016 election.
Clinton, joined at the State Department event by her spouse, ex-President Bill Clinton, lauded the efforts of the present Secretary of State, Antony Blinken. She emphasized how challenging it would have been for the US and its partners to back Ukraine after certain events during Trump’s presidency, as noted by ABC News.
Though she didn’t directly name Trump, she remarked on the difficulty of mending relations with allies after certain policy decisions, saying, “Restoring a foreign policy grounded in American values, prioritizing our safety and interests, and attracting allies rather than alienating them was seen as a monumental task, and it was.”
Before her portrait was revealed, Clinton shared that she hadn’t viewed the painting for a while, citing the pandemic and the preceding administration as reasons.
She expressed gratitude towards the State Department and recalled her time in office, saying, “We tirelessly worked towards upholding human rights, women’s rights, rights of the LGBTQ+ community, and everyone’s right to realize their inherent potential.” She recognized these goals as also being pursued by the Biden administration.
Commenting on Putin, Clinton made it clear that the Russian leader was accountable for the Ukraine conflict, which has led to a standoff and NATO’s growth, saying, “Regrettably, Vladimir, you’ve only yourself to blame.”
