1st Amendment: SCOTUS Protects Catholic Group From Leftist Blackmail

Religious freedom in the United States has been a subject of dispute for many years. Mainly because Religious organizations are under constant attack by the left, who are not afraid to intrude on people’s rights.

A glaring example was The city of Philadelphia refusing to have an adoption contract with Catholic Social Services unless they agreed to certify same-sex parents as eligible candidates to adopt a child.

Any person with common sense and morality knows this is a violation of 1st Amendment Rights. Thankfully, the Supreme Court of The United States agrees.

In a 9-0 judgment, SCOTUS held that the City of Philadelphia’s refusal to contract with Catholic Social Services (CSS) for the provision of foster care services unless the agency agrees to certify same-sex couples as foster parents violates the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. It came about after Philadelphia stopped foster children from being placed with the Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on the basis of its beliefs and practices on traditional marriage.

Just imagine if the shoe was on the other foot, and a Conservative City Hall forced an LGBTQ organization to include straight people in their messaging.

The left, backed by their mainstream media bullies, would be up in arms, demanding their resignation – and rightfully so.

The 1st Amendment guarantees freedom of association to all American citizens, not just those who agree with the left.
