Is Biden Purposely Not Enforcing The Law At The Southern Border?
In a move to rally House Republicans, GOP Speaker candidate Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) initiated a call for solidarity through a letter addressed to his colleagues on Monday morning, a communication first disclosed by The Hill.
Jordan emphasized his commitment to consolidating Republicans, stating, “The Speaker’s primary duty is to unify all factions of the GOP. That’s my objective.”
He intriguingly noted his intention to broaden participation in significant decision-making processes, extending beyond the central “Five Families.”
“Our aim will be to delegate authority to our committees and their leaders, allowing them to spearhead the House’s legislative agenda through standard procedures,” Jordan articulated.
The “five families,” representing the principal ideological groups within the House GOP, had previously been integral in deliberations and talks with the recently deposed Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on a range of policy matters. Notably, Jordan himself was the original chairman of one such influential group, the House Freedom Caucus.
