Chip Roy – Greene Fight
In a heated exchange on Capitol Hill, Representative Chip Roy (R-Texas) countered Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) following his vote against her proposed resolution to censure Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.). Roy’s opposition was based on his view that the resolution contained unsubstantiated and legally questionable assertions, particularly regarding Tlaib’s critique of Israel’s actions against Palestine.
Greene fired back, criticizing Roy’s previous actions, including his alleged vote to remove her from the Freedom Caucus, and his continued association with other controversial members of the group. She further accused him of siding with Democrats and neglecting the plight of those involved in the January 6 Capitol breach.
Roy retorted by bringing up Greene’s past controversial comments, which included a bizarre theory about wildfires in California being caused by a space-based energy beam controlled by a prominent Jewish family. He suggested that if Greene wanted to focus on such theories, she might as well pursue the fictional concept of “Jewish space lasers,” a remark that underscores the tension and division within their party.
