Pelosi Names This Republican to Capitol Siege Panel
It looks like a GOP Congresswoman doesn’t care about re-election in 2022.
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) voted “yes” to set up a panel to look at the Jan. 6th Capitol incident. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi picked her to be part of this commission.
And Cheney was “honored” to be asked to sit on the panel.
Here’s her official response:
“Congress is obligated to conduct a full investigation of the most serious attack on our Capitol since 1814. That day saw the most sacred space in our Republic overrun by an angry and violent mob attempting to stop the counting of electoral votes and threatening the peaceful transfer of power.
“What happened on January 6th can never happen again. Those who are responsible for the attack need to be held accountable and this select committee will fulfill that responsibility in a professional, expeditious, and non-partisan manner.”
The House approved the committee on Wednesday over Republican objections.
And she was only one of two House Republicans who voted “yes” to set up the committee. The other was Adam Kinzinger of Illinois.
This looks to be another political witch hunt designed to damage President Trump. And to drag this out through the 2022 mid-term elections.
But this story has made one thing clear. The odds of Liz Cheney to win re-election in Wyoming are slim to none.
