Should Jack Smith Throw In The Towel On Prosecuting Trump?
Michelle Obama Cancels 2024 Run?
Michelle Obama’s stance on a potential presidential bid remains resolute, as her office emphatically dismisses any speculation of her returning to the White House in such a capacity. Crystal Carson, the director of communications for Obama’s office, reiterated Obama’s longstanding position, stating unequivocally that the former First Lady has no intention of running for president. Instead, Obama pledges her support to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ reelection campaign.
This declaration comes in response to baseless conjecture from several Republicans, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Sen. Ted Cruz, and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who have floated the idea of Obama replacing Biden on the ballot due to concerns over his polling numbers and age. Despite being perceived as a formidable candidate by some within the Democratic Party, Obama has consistently rejected the notion of seeking the presidency.
In a recent Rasmussen Reports poll, Democrats expressed a preference for Obama to replace Biden on the 2024 ticket, highlighting her popularity within the party. Moreover, political commentators have touted her as the Democrats’ “best chance” at retaining the White House, particularly in a potential rematch against former President Trump.
However, Obama, now 60 years old, remains firm in her decision to refrain from pursuing the presidency. Addressing speculation in 2019, she emphasized that she is committed to effecting change through other means, such as her work with young people and initiatives promoting healthier lifestyles. Despite her influential role in politics, including the founding of the voter registration and engagement organization When We All Vote in 2018, Obama has consistently maintained that occupying the Oval Office is not within her aspirations.
