Trump Gets Bad News On Saturday

President Donald Trump’s approval ratings have fallen to some of their weakest levels of his presidency, according to two national polls released in early July, showing continued public dissatisfaction during his second term.

A new Economist/YouGov survey conducted from July 3 to July 6 among 1,603 U.S. adults found that 35% of respondents approved of Trump’s job performance, while 61% disapproved. The results put Trump’s net approval rating at negative 26 points, matching the lowest level recorded in that poll series.

The latest numbers represent one of the most difficult polling periods for Trump, with his approval rating reaching the same low point seen in May 2026. According to YouGov, Trump’s net approval score is also tied for the lowest level recorded across his two presidential terms and the Biden administration.

A separate national survey from Focaldata released July 6 showed a similar trend, adding to broader evidence that Trump is facing growing challenges with public opinion.

The polling comes as the Trump administration faces criticism over several major issues, including economic concerns, foreign policy decisions, and ongoing political disputes. The results highlight the difficulty presidents often face in maintaining public support during their second terms, particularly when voters express concerns about the direction of the country.

While approval ratings can shift based on current events and polling methods, the latest surveys indicate that Trump’s standing with the broader electorate remains under pressure as his administration moves further into its second term.
