Trump Makes Iran Go In To Panic Mode
President Donald Trump issued a sharp warning to Iran late Friday, saying the United States would respond with overwhelming force if Tehran followed through on alleged threats to assassinate him. Trump said the U.S. military had already been instructed to prepare for a potential response.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that thousands of missiles were ready to target Iran if the Iranian government attempted to carry out an attack against him. He said military orders had already been issued and that the U.S. was prepared to launch a major campaign against Iranian targets if necessary.
Trump’s comments came after reports that Israeli intelligence had shared information with U.S. officials suggesting Iran may have been considering a plan to target the president. The reports intensified concerns about possible retaliation following recent military exchanges between the United States and Iran.
Iranian officials have also made statements suggesting a desire for revenge after the death of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during earlier strikes. His successor, Mojtaba Khamenei, reportedly vowed that retaliation would take place, calling revenge a demand of the Iranian people. During funeral events for the former leader, some crowds displayed messages threatening Trump.
The tensions escalated further after Trump said during the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, that an interim ceasefire agreement with Iran was effectively finished following renewed strikes between the two countries. Trump also told reporters that he believed he remained Iran’s top assassination target.
In an interview Friday, Trump said he had left instructions for the military to launch a massive response if he were killed in an attack linked to Iran.
“I’ve been on their list for a long time,” Trump said, adding that the military had been given guidance on how to respond if anything happened to him.
When asked about the reported intelligence regarding a possible Iranian assassination plan, Trump said there was no new plot that he was aware of but maintained that Iran has viewed him as a target for years.
Security concerns surrounding Trump increased earlier in the week after he departed the NATO summit aboard the older Air Force One aircraft instead of the newly refurbished plane provided by Qatar. Officials later said the decision was made as a precaution amid heightened tensions in the region.
The aircraft decision followed a series of escalating events, including strikes involving Iran, disputes over shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz, and the end of a temporary ceasefire arrangement. Trump’s latest warning adds another layer of uncertainty as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to rise.
