Trump Obama Photo Goes Viral

President Trump on Sunday shared a digitally altered image on Truth Social depicting former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama waving before boarding an Air Force One that had been covered in graffiti.

The edited image showed slogans including “Yes We Can,” “Obama” and “BLM” painted across the aircraft. It also featured Arabic text reading “alhamdulillah,” a phrase meaning “praise be to God” or “thank God.” The post quickly drew attention online as critics accused Trump of using imagery they argued invoked negative stereotypes associated with crime and urban decay.

The post is the latest in a long-running exchange between Trump and the Obamas. Earlier this year, Trump shared another altered image depicting the former president and first lady as primates, a post that was later removed after bipartisan criticism. The White House later attributed that post to a staff member, though Trump declined to apologize.

The timing of Sunday’s post also drew attention because Trump recently took his first flight aboard a refurbished Boeing 747-800 that was donated by Qatar and converted for presidential use. The aircraft features a redesigned exterior using Trump’s preferred navy-blue, red and gold color scheme rather than the traditional light-blue design long associated with Air Force One.

The image followed another altered graphic Trump posted last month showing the future Obama Presidential Library in Chicago with a large pile of garbage placed on top of the building. Trump has repeatedly criticized the project in public remarks and on social media.

Sunday’s Truth Social activity also included a manipulated image appearing to show Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni smiling at Trump beneath the words “RESTRAINING ORDER NEEDED.” The post came after Trump claimed Meloni repeatedly sought photographs with him during the recent G7 summit, an account Meloni publicly denied as “completely fabricated.” Trump is scheduled to travel to Turkey this week for the upcoming NATO Summit.
