Trump Says U.S. Closer To World War 3 Than Ever Before, You Agree?

On Sunday, Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) expressed skepticism regarding the idea of electing former President Trump as the House Speaker, emphasizing that such a move is unlikely to materialize.

Speaking to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Buck addressed the recent suggestions by some in the GOP to nominate Trump as the Speaker, especially after the recent removal of Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) from his leadership position. Buck voiced his stance, saying, “It’s not a feasible scenario.” He added, “Our House has a plethora of qualified individuals. We will make this decision within our House Republican Conference, ensuring the chosen individual has the full support and consensus of our members.”

Regarding Trump’s potential presidential run, Buck stated that he would back the Republican candidate. However, when questioned about supporting Trump should he face conviction, Buck clarified that he wouldn’t support a convicted individual.

Despite facing legal challenges and criminal charges, Trump continues to remain a leading GOP presidential contender, consistently outpacing rivals in polls. His potential nomination seems undeterred by these issues.

The Republican faction in the House has been grappling with internal challenges since McCarthy’s departure from his leadership role. Although McCarthy has expressed no intention of reclaiming the Speakership, both Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) have voiced their ambitions for the position.

A few House members had previously suggested Trump for the Speaker role, with Trump himself indicating a willingness to assume the role on a temporary basis “if needed.”

Nevertheless, Trump has since thrown his support behind Jordan for the Speakership. On his part, Buck confirmed that he would refrain from endorsing any candidate until decisions on budgetary constraints are reached.
